MegaBackup is meant to help you protect your precious files against being accidentally lost and deleted. It lets you back up data on the cloud, online, any important files that you want to protect against unwanted events. The MegaBackup application allows using both the cloud service and additional functions such as screenshot sharing or document synchronization.
MegaBackup doesn't use its own servers for storing users' backed up files. It uses the well-known Amazon S3 cloud storage service, and this might come as a disappointment for some users, while others will enjoy being capable of using an already-proven, acknowledged, secure service.
MegaBackup lets you synchronize files across multiple devices or easily and quickly share files with anyone you want. Its desktop client comes with a simple interface that shouldn't trouble much even inexperienced users, though I think some aspects of it could have been improved and made more intuitive.
Unfortunately, there's some confusion about how much disk space this tool offers for free; though it says that 100 MB can be uploaded for free, as a trial plan, I couldn't upload even 10 MB because of a warning message that I got about going over the free upload limit. Actually, regardless of how many files I wanted to back up, even 3 compressed images totaling 300 KB, the same “Not enough space to protect all files. Get unlimited space to complete the backup” message was displayed. more
